I’m still surprised and frustrated that there’s no decent game controller that connects to and holds a tablet.

Hi fediverse! Boosts appreciated on this one.

I’m part of a co-op building a platform for artists to sell art without getting exploited. I’ve been working on it for a while but there’s a lot of work to do and I could use some help. A ton of the main features are in place, but there’s still some big gaps and a lot of polish left before it can launch.

The platform is fully open source and developed in the open. It’s built on Phoenix/Elixir and Tailwindcss. Our co-op is already incorporated and established and it’s open to members that want to actually commit but you don’t need to be a member to contribute or help.

Does this sound interesting? I’d love some help! I’m also happy to answer questions. And no, you don’t need to know Elixir already. It’s pretty easy to learn for the things you’d be using it for. Even some design help would be welcome. Feel free to reply here or DM me!

Meta is infamous for privacy violations, but let's not forget how Twitter often does the same. Yet another reason to migrate to the Fediverse.

I'm reading a lot about #DuckDuckGo (Search) using Microsoft trackers. According to my research this is not true. The issue is that the DuckDuckGo browser allows third party scripts from Microsoft on third party websites. This has nothing to do with the search engine. DuckDuckGo CEO has published a statement:

I kind of miss the days of hearing a HDD ticking as an indicator of knowing if my PC has frozen or not.

Question: A users old posts are visible on their server’s profile page, but why don’t they show up in apps?

If you want to see the "Local" timeline of a Mastodon server, many of them have a "See what's happening" link on their front page. Clicking this shows that server's latest public posts by people from that server. You don't need to be a member to see this page, because the posts shown are only public ones.

For example, you can try it out on

(Note that some servers have this switched off, or set to show their "Federated" timeline instead of the local one.)

Question for anyone managing a server: Are you using relays to help with federating content?
